I really enjoy this place. It's always a fun experience. It was a bit harsh in there yesterday bc there's no AC and it was like 100° outside but they had some delish chilled, blended drinks for us The food is always good. I got the fried fish tacos last night and they were very good and filling. The workers are always cheerful and helpful. The service isn't always the fasted but last night we got our stuff pretty quick. Luckily bc we were on our way to a show at the brewery Nextdoor. They have a large indoor outdoor seating area and a full bar and bar area to sit. I definitely recommend for drinks or food or both really. Cheers!

Dec 2023 Stopped in for happy hour with some compatriots again. We had gotten the nachos, a bunch of street tacos, the esquite, and the birria quesadilla with a couple margaritas to wash everything down. Flavors were pretty good, and the portions were nice. I'd say I liked the birria quesadilla best, though I would want more cheese or something to gel it together better. For the price, it hit the mark for us.

Specifically went here for the bar. Had some chips and salsa. Also had an order of guacamole that came with pork rinds. Everything was tasty. Bartender service was great. The bar is a bit small. Will have to come back and try the food next time

A very solid 4.5 stars! This has become our regular weekday spot after the Mexican chain down the road pooped the bed for the last time. The food and drinks are better, the ambiance is comparable to better IMO, and the better prices go to a local restaurateur. I'm obsessed with their tamarind mule and the watermelon mint drink is a summertime gem! They also have great daily specials, including $1.50 tacos on Taco Tuesday and all day happy hour on Wednesday!

I'm a margarita girl so this place was perfect for me! We got seated quickly with seating indoors and outdoors. The staff are probably my favorite thing about this restaurant. They're so sweet, attentive, and hilarious! We got along well with them. I love their happy hour; we got a pitcher of the marg and it wasn't too $$$. They have all kind of drinks and flavors. I'll come here again when I want a good margarita. The food was honestly okay in my opinion. It wasn't anything to rave about. The tacos were still tasty and it was a large portion. Same with their chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't that flavorful or spicy. I think everything was just mild to me. Overall, I'll still be coming back for a good drink and maybe a nibble but don't expect to come here for excellent food. The drinks 10/10. The food 6/10.

This place overall is good with some strong points, but it is a bit mixed. We recently have gone back here after a long hiatus after the original Covid shutdown. We had been only a couple times prior to that. We recently have only been for lunch. Overall, it is about 3.5 or 4 stars. I'm rounding up at the moment, but it hangs in the balance there between 3 and 4. The top shelf margaritas are very good, comparable to those at Tequileria Santa Rosa, not too juicy or sweet with good tequila flavour. The one big mark against them is that they seem to use regular salt for the rim instead of flaky margarita salt, which gives the wrong salt intensity, taste, and feel. They are also in tall, narrow pilsner-type glasses, which makes them harder to drink properly. 4 stars. The "tipsy tacos" (crispy corn tortilla with layer of cheese an soft flour tortilla) are great, not factoring in which filling one gets. The soft-crunchy textures and levels of cheese are really good, as are the toppings. (4 stars) Regular chips and salsas area great. They have two salsas: red/tomato-based, and avocado-based. Both have great flavour, just the right amount of spiciness to them to give a nice little kick and zing without the spice being overpowering or getting in the way of the other flavours, or lingering too long. 5 stars. They have things like elote (corn) and frutas, nice touches, beyond the usual American-Mexican places, and these are good. The frutas plate, for example, has a nice array of cucumber, orange, and jicama, with tajin and the thin berry compote/sauce which is common. The quality is good, the ingredients seem fresh, and the balance is nice. 4 stars. Enchiladas are good and the entree plates overall have a nice amount of guacamole, beans, and rice, all of which are good. 4 stars. Meat filings really vary. The al pastor is great, though not excellent. 4 stars. It has nice seasoning and texture, not overcooked with a nice bit of lite crispiness. The carnitas are very good, tasty and nicely cooked, although one taco had a big chunk of fat and gristle, a common issue with this type of meat but it should have been left out of the taco given how mall the taco was. 4 stars for the meat in of itself. The adobo chicken is a weak point. It is not what we would consider adobo chicken, or proper shredded chicken, at all, but was like mass-produced mushy purreed chicken similar to that one might find at a school, not good in taste (odd, reminding us of school meals again) and texture (mushy) . It was not horrid, though. 1.5- or 2 stars. Service has been good, friendly, and efficient. The place is the old Acapulco place downtown (originally built around the 1930s in a basic Mission-revival style as a car dealership) so lends itself to a nice setting for a Mexican eatery in decor, the windows, and the nice patio seating out front, so it gets points for that, also. So far, we'll gladly go back but we'll avoid the adobo and we'll keep an eye out for other strengths and weaknesses.
